JMU’s best 2 wins are against 7-3 Old Dominion and 5-5 Marshall. There’s no reason they should be in the CFP

“JMU is bad, they’ve only beaten 1 team with a winning record!!” 🤓 - fan of team that’s only beaten 1 opponent with a winning record

Exactly bruh, and USF doesn’t even look so hot anymore. Best win is UNT, whose best win is?…

Commented this on another post but I’m not a JMU student, I just think arguing about strength of schedule for G5 teams is utterly pointless and stupid. They all have shitty schedules, just put in the one with the best record.

Currently Navy whose best win is…well it’s the American conference cycle of hell let’s be real

One could argue that since they all beat up on each other, none of them are any good, and thus, not playoff quality

it’s hard to tell cause of the G5/P4 structure. It’s as if there’s really 4 divisions of college ball rather than 3. We need to either act like the G5 is a separate division and treat it as such, or realign every single conference for better parity. Both of which aren’t gonna happen

edit, 5 divisions vs 4, forgot about FCS

I wouldn’t hate a G5 national champion that was crowned based on record/quality of bowl win

I’d be in favor of a G5 natty if we treated the divisions like European football and relegated teams

We all know the current playoff is a P4 playoff where they throw the G5 a bone for “fairness” but it’s not. It’s all a money game, and the teams that do well should be rewarded and those who can’t hang in their own P4 conference should have a consequence.

I like this idea but I think the issue comes in when you factor in other sports, making a school change conferences for all sports, just because of the performance (or lack-thereof) of the football team wouldn’t make sense
