Why not just give all conference champions a spot. I’m sure Oregon vs Kennesaw State and Ole Miss vs Western Michigan would be extremely exciting games

I don’t think all should get auto bids but you need to have a G5 team in. If not, it would just be the same teams beating the crap out of the same teams every year which is what the 4 team playoff was. If I’m watching a blowout, id rather see a G5 team get a chance

Yeah, idk why this is a controversial idea. Every single playoff system at every NCAAF level has an auto-bid for each conference. In FCS, the MVFC and PFL are at widely different skill levels, but they both get an auto-bid

I don’t think there’s room for 9-10 auto bids in a 12 team playoff. That’d be a mess. If the playoff was as large as basketballs I wouldn’t be opposed but having all conference champions this year would’ve been a mess and would be most years

Oh yeah, in this current framework, an all conference auto-bid system wouldn’t work. I imagine in order to make it work the playoffs would have to expand to 16. Still, I think it’s worth considering. Who wouldn’t wanna see playoff MACtion 🤷‍♀️
