I’m taking this one step further and saying every coach is in the shadow of Saban untill we get another absolute superstar coach, which may never happen to the caliber of Saban ever again. Plus the majority of good coaches now are part of his tree
EVERY coach is in the shadow of Saban until bama falls off and his name stops being mentioned, especially every SEC coach minus maybe Kirby Smart. Kiffin’s entire goal is to eclipse Saban’s shadow. LSU fans, idk if you’ve heard, but all roads lead to Rome

I think Kirby Smart is heading toward that caliber of coach. I know people don’t like him, but he finds a way to win.

I just don’t think we will see that sort of dominance ever again with the way football is changing, especially with NIL and transfer portal it used to be like you want to go to this program bc it’s an honor to play for Alabama, now it’s just who will pay me most . People forget how much they won I mean there was a FULL DECADE where they won 6/11 championships, and only missed the playoffs 2 times. Like that’s unbelievable. Imagine if out of nowhere a team like Florida did that now
