What happens if Sorsby bets again while at Texas Tech? Can he even be punished for it or will the courts just bypass it and say that the ncaa can’t take away his eligibility for gambling?

His current legal defense hitches on that the NCAA isn’t considering his “mental health” plea, which hasn’t been attempted before. He’ll probably still lose, but the judge gave the injunction because there’s a possibility he might win that. Realistically say he gets caught tomorrow, especially after doing rehab, I doubt any judge no matter how much they offer them will consider a relapse plea as a viable route and deny an injunction

I advise you look into the Charles Bediako situation at Alabama if you aren’t familiar, but basically what the injunction is doing is that it’s saying the courts will take too long to arbitrate on his eligibility suit, and by then the “damages” (his eligibility) will run out and they won’t be able to compensate him for that. So realistically if he doesn’t hop in the supplemental draft he’ll just get canned part way through the year for tech and they won’t have to forfeit those games
