I don’t have much of a southern accent, and it’s crazy how people switch up on you when they find out you’re from the Deep South. You don’t have to talk to me like I’m 5 years old lol

Genuinely. I’m a born and raised southerner and a leftie and and whatever and all that. I genuinely do not care that many of my constituents disagree with me. I want the best for not only my fellow southerners but everyone in my country. I have a lot of love for the north bc I got a bunch family there :(

I think someone put it best when they said the north likes the idea of helping poor people and minorities, but hates the actual people/individual, and the south is the other way around. The south doesn’t like the idea minorities, but when talking to an individual will still give them the same respect as anyone else regardless of that bias

It’s also crazy because so many people think that the South is white people with some black pockets that we don’t get along with. Like go visit Atlanta ONE TIME IM BEGGING. That city is incredible with such a vibrant culture. I’ve been so many times and I’ve never had any sketch experiences or trouble

Fr??? I’ve lived in Appalachia my whole life and the only time I put my accent on is when I’m working bc I’m at a very local grocery store and a Lot of our customers are quite southern

Ikr???? The entirely of the south is a LOT more diverse than people think it is. If anything, there’s small pockets of WHITE only places instead of the other way around
