CFP is 90% blowouts no matter the teams. Why don’t people want to see smaller schools at least have a chance?

Also they had a significantly easier path than any other playoff team. Might as well put Florida in cause they would be 1 loss with that schedule

Dude the reason the smaller schools play the big schools is because they are literally paid to loose😭

it sucks to watch teams that have a good record but played an easier schedule get in over teams with a slightly worse record but drastically harder schedule

Well that’s why the committee doesn’t like it but why does the average CFB hate the fact that G5 teams get a chance to compete

I most certainly will. And I think every else still will too. Everyone CBB fan remembers where they were when UMBC beat Virginia or when FDU beat Purdue. Cinderella and underdog stories are one of the best things about sports. And saying they have absolutely no chance is just not true

Wow completely different sports, they have 0 chance.

More hypothetical wins for the SEC. They also have less resources or talent than any other playoff team. That doesn’t mean they can’t pull it off tho. Upsets happen for a reason, I’d rather a team with a good record that hasn’t played top comp yet get in over a team that’s solid but lost to all the top comp they’ve played

Jmu has absolutely zero chance to beat oregon

Tulane just beat USC in a NY6 bowl a few years ago as 17 point underdogs lol

You don’t know until they actually play. I’d rather watch Oregon vs JMU than Oregon vs Duke

You mean when Kiffin was coaching Ole Miss? And everyone knows it’s harder to beat a team the second time

JMU, Duke, BYU all more than likely are going to get killed by a top 5 team on the road. But what’s the fun in the playoffs if it’s the same teams every year with no variety. The playoffs were always blowouts without the G5 too

Not really. Yeah I get the schedule argument but if you’ve played top teams and can’t beat them, do you really desert a shot over a team that hasn’t played top comp so we don’t know if they can compete or not?

when the one good team they’ve played already blew them out, well that tells a lot on its own

If you’re gonna use that argument the one good team BYU played blew them out. ND didn’t beat a good team. Texas lost to a horrible Florida team. Vandy didn’t beat any CFP team. Miami didn’t play anyone outside of ND who had a QB making his 2nd ever start. You can make an argument that a lot of the top teams haven’t played anyone

not even close duke wouldve had a much better shot. also duke dominated georgia tech back when they were a top 12 team in thr country.

Duke lost to 2 G5 schools, the same schools that “don’t deserve a chance”

duke was easily the better team that game🤣🤣 if it wasnt for the 99 yd fumble return and duke being incompetent inside the 5 it wouldve been a blowout for duke

If Duke was competent then they would be a better football team, if they were a better football team they wouldn’t have fumbled the ball

not a blowout - gt was the better team no doubt - but i do think jmu would not have been as competitive. Look how the JMU-Louisville game went

I get the argument tho. Being a fan of a team on the bubble has to be frustrating when you feel like the G5 did nothing to earn a spot. But the moments we love in sports are when teams like JMU and Tulane do pull off the impossible. Yeah most years they’ll get smoked but most CFP games are blowouts either way

Yeah for some reason Wazzu gave a lot of teams a scare, JMU beat them by 3 (i think) and UVA only beat them due to a safety

Bama beat Georgia in Georgia earlier in the year and then got killed on Saturday. Anything can happen especially with Kiffin not there
