
Missouri didn’t secede though, they didn’t fight on the side trying to defend slavery. They were on the side that ended slavery. Furthermore, Columbia was strongly pro-union. They’re called the Tigers because that was the name of the Union militia based there. If you think Mizzou means pro-slavery or pro-confederacy you’re just willfully ignorant at this point.
Missouri was pro-slavery, that’s not an opinion but a literal fact. Considering Missouri sent more men to fight for the confederacy than people who participated from Kansas overall, and the state was the closest of any border state to flipping to the union, you can’t just write off the confederacy-sympathies.
