I’m not saying that Notre Dame is where they should be or anybody should be above or below them. Just more specifically about the Texas placement.

Imo Texas placement is like a tentative placeholder to say that they deserve to get in if they win out. I don’t disagree with that given they still have to play Georgia and A&M

Also especially with how crazy this season is, nobody should be penciling in wins or losses. The rankings should have been that on November 4th if the playoffs started, who is in. Not predictions of if they win out who’s in.

Yeah, I’m not saying it’s a prediction. It’s a “if they win those they’re in, if not they’re out.”

Also some of it is probably awkward bc they want to respect the Texas-Oklahoma and Virginia-Louisville head to heads, but the teams that won those have arguably looked worse outside of those games (Texas going to OT against 2 bad SEC teams and losing to Florida, Virginia losing to NC State and barely beating Wazzu and UNC)

Yeah that’s fair. I do think the CFP rankings are overall way better than the AP rankings this week at least, it’s just really tough to order that 10-15 range with any system.
