Okay but it doesn’t need an executive order. That’s an abuse of power. The government can’t forbid TV networks from airing whatever the HECK they want whenever the HECK they want to. This is the first push, giving us a “treat” woohoo look we’re abusing power in a way you like yay!! The next time won’t be so. This administration is a joke. Praying for the soldiers being deployed for anti Christian operations.
I love how you pinhead rednecks think people are trying to “cancel a historical rivalry” by pointing out the obvious reality that forcing all other college football teams to be forbidden from a televised contest on any public network during that time slot is categorically absurd. Keep licking those boots, though, dipshit.
I’m not a Trump Supporter. I’m not even a Republican. I absolutely hate seeing people use this term but this is basically TDS. Army-Navy is one of the longest-lasting and purest rivalries in all of college football (the only rivalry where both teams do not play on NIL contracts and are literally willing to die for you). It’s consistently one of the most viewed and packed regular season games in the country. Go back to bluesky and be a nuisance there if all youll do is insult people.
What about it? All it did was make it official. I don’t think the CFP or NCAA would intrude on it anyways, they know how special the rivalry is, the EO is basically the same thing as coworker Bob who has been doing managerial duties and getting a raised salary (but not officially given the title manager) being officially given a managerial title. I fail to see why this is an issue.
The Army-Navy game is a bunch of bootlicking morons who couldn’t even make the rosters of 90% of D1 programs. It’s ceremony for ceremony’s sake. It’s more dangerous to be a public school teacher than it is to be a student at a military academy. You’re watching mid-tier talent who, within 8 years, will all be selling insurance and starting podcasts with 6 listeners. It isn’t good football. They aren’t great players. It was meaningful when there were about 10 football teams.
I can’t tell if this is ragebait or if you’re genuinely stupid. If guys weren’t good enough to make 90% of D1 programs they would be at the D2 level, not still playing FBS football for a service school (you do realize guys from service academies make the nfl all the time, right?) also that’s most of college athletes, idk why you’re zoning in on these two schools specifically. Just say you don’t know ball and move on.
My drivers ed buddy plays at army. These guys are freaks at the sport no matter how much you want to try and put them down. They’re not -the best- of the best in the country, but nobody is claiming they are. You’re fighting an imaginary fight because you don’t like that a president you hate (that most of us hate btw, so you’re preaching to the choir on that aspect) codified its weekend.
Attacking servicemen while you’re fatass is probably sinking into the gaming chair and I can smell your immense bo from the other side of my phone. Maybe go get a shower before you attack the people who put their lives on the line for you to live in your moms basement without any responsibilities interupting your reddit binging
It’s actually okay to not blindly be patriotic when the people representing your country are evil pedophiles beholding to Israel. Personally I still like football, Trump has nothing to do with it, and republican and democrat are antiquated categories that don’t accurately describe our population. That is all
No no no, you said “no top tier talent is choosing a service academy over any other d1 school.” Roger Staubach was exceptional coming out of high school and is in the pro football hall of fame and yet he chose Navy over Notre Dame, Purdue, and Northwestern (all D1 schools). Be fr dude, people are choosing service academies over FCS schools, not to mention good players transfer out all the time (Kemari Copeland (Virginia Tech) is a really good dl that transferred from Army)
Political and partisan are not the same thing. Sign an order making it a national holiday or a registered historical event. Go for it. That’s reasonable. Forcing every public television network to avoid showing any other games (and this force games to go unscheduled altogether) is absolutely political overreach in every interpretation of the term. West Point isn’t a school. It’s a cesspool of nepotism, abuse, and dumbassery.
Cool, you like playing semantics. Again, ncaa games were never scheduled on the same day as Army-Navy. It was always the last game of the season and had its own day (second Saturday of December since 2009 and the last game of the regular season for long before then), so why would television networks show games that aren’t even being played? Again you know nothing about army-navy or college football in general. You’ve shown this the entire time. You care more about who held the pen.
The ncaa has to workaround the NFL’s scheduling too. The CFP can be expanded (IMO it should be expanded to 16) and Army-Navy can have its own day. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive. Not to mention it’s a regular season game, playoff games being scheduled before a regular season game (especially if one of those teams wins the AAC and makes the playoffs) wouldn’t make logistical sense either. Trump isn’t the only person that wants to preserve the game, he just happened to sign an order.
It’s okay to have opinions about other countries. We agreed on international policies to handle power abuse and aid people in need. It comes down to men a lot of the time choosing to do violence against eachother and against women and children. Trump ran on helping Americans, people cant even get jobs and our taxes are funding concentration camps. Where is the promised America first focus? That’s why people don’t like 34count felon pedo 3 bms orange president
Do me a favor and actually read the EO. It doesn’t force tv networks to air the game instead of something else (in fact CBS hold exclusive rights to broadcasting the game). All it does is make it so the CFP committee can’t schedule a playoff game during the army-navy window on the second Saturday of December (when Army-Navy has taken place every year since 2009) if they expand the playoffs. Nothing about tv networks is even mentioned in the EO (I hate Trump btw, this is just something that-
Because it’s been the last regular season game long before Trump even became a Republican and it’s currently the purest college football game since none of the guys there are playing for NIL money, and it’s so popular it sells out NFL Stadiums every year (which if you can’t tell is big for two G5 schools). Not my fault an Orange won’t let you appreciate pure football
That’s when it comes to decisions that actually impact the country. Also if it’s a free country, by this logic the fcc shouldn’t even exist (which is who the EO is directed to, keep in mind every EO must go through a federal agency. No exceptions). Codifying a 3-hour window for a regular season game that’s already existed since the Obama admin isnt really something that impacts the state of democracy, all it does is say “hey cfp when you expand the playoffs, this window should be left untouched”
