Because bama would have been in easy field goal range with enough time to get into the end zone or at the very least kick a tying field goal to force OT

1. Nobody can be sure if bama would’ve scored if the PI was called 2. If they had scored (which yes, they PROBABLY would’ve scored at least a field goal), UGA would’ve still had time to get another td IF bama had scored a touchdown and not a field goal. It sucks that bama got that chance taken away from them but that’s just what it was, a chance. It is not at all an objective fact that they would’ve won that game if PI was called
