ND shouldn’t have been above Bama or OU, but they should have been above Miami. Two lower ranked (also unranked) losses for Miami, none for ND. The head to head doesn’t make up for both of them.

They should’ve proved it then but they didn’t

They had their chance to make it over Miami and they blew it. Head to head does matter when they have the same record and Miami has a better win

They have the same record because ND played a top 10 opponent and Miami did not. Using the Texas A&M game in this comparison is useless because we had no idea what Miami would do had they played someone as good as Texas A&M. Comparing same strength opponents, ND had a better record.

Miami had 1 real game all year and they won it ND had 2 and they lost both. Newsflash losing to good teams doesn’t get you shit you have to beat them for it to matter that you played a hard game

They both played 12 real games all year. Choosing to isolate ones that would personal benefit you is called cherrypicking. Miami lost to 2 unranked teams and ND was undefeated against unranked teams. Beating ND can make up for one of those losses but not both.

Miami proved more than Notre dame. Beating up on bad teams late season proves nothing. You’re only as good as who you’ve beat and ND beat nobody

And while I’m at it, 11 win BYU with wins over #15 and #17 proved more than 10 win ND with one ranked win over #16

If you want to claim they proved more you need to substantiate your claim. Your logic is really flimsy by the way. It’s clear you invented it just to justify an opinion you already had. To prove it, by your logic Louisville and SMU should be over Miami because their best win is better than Miami’s. But of course you don’t believe this because you don’t actually believe in your own logic.

Those teams are 8-4 so H2H does not matter can you not understand common sense?

Wins are the only thing that matter in CFB. ND does not get extra points because they lost to good teams. You have to beat good teams. They didn’t. They’re out. Miami and BYU beat good teams. They should be above. End of story.

We can sit here and compare resumes all day and we’ll still believe what we believe. But football isn’t decided by what me and you have as our criteria for grading resumes. Football is decided by what happens on the field and what happened on the field was Miami beat ND
