He’s also been very vocal both that he wants to win a national championship, and that you can’t expect to win somewhere that banners aren’t already hanging. With that in mind, LSU has no championships, NC State has two. And he’s talked at length about how the money is, in fact, aligned to make that happen. If anything, the strong ass offer is coming from NC State.

I don’t think you understand the bottomless pit that is SEC money. NC state’s funding is like a drop in the bucket. Reviving a dead program isn’t much different than winning a school their first championship in the NIL era, especially if your program is funded by billionaires and SEC football revenue. It’s all about money and he can be bought, you’re naive to think relevance in another century has any pull. LSU or some other SEC team will make in his own words a strong ass offer

You’re thinking about SEC football, not basketball. For nearly 70 years, the ACC has been the premier basketball conference. And even in the last 5 years since the last natty where they’ve not been at their peak, they’ve still gotten 5 teams in the final four. While SEC fans will fork over money for football, ACC fans will do exactly the same for basketball. And this isn’t about TV revenue differences either, because NC State is maxing out revenue share.

What are you talking about? The SEC just got 14 teams into the tournament (that’s almost the entire conference) and an SEC team won the whole thing. SEC donors are already funneling money into basketball, look at Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, alabama, Auburn, the list goes on and will grow. NC State’s revenue share from TV revenue is incomparable to the SEC’s especially for a school like LSU. Then you have the billionaires donors supplementing it. Not all of that money is going to football
