I don’t get it, college is all about inclusivity? Are you people that aren’t in a certain age aren’t allowed to use a institution’s resources to realize and express their dream?

Lmfao he’s allowed to go to college and finish his degree, that doesn’t mean he should get to play on a college basketball team again. He had his chance and forfeited his eligibility when he didn’t withdraw from the draft. Wouldn’t you agree that washed up pros would be taking spots on rosters from hard working high school students?

I mean… would you want a highschool player that’s worser than a washed up pro in the first place? If you want the spot, be better?

College basketball is an amateur league meant to develop players into pros. How is a high school player who runs out of high school eligibility supposed to get better when washed up pros are taking their spots in the development league? And trust these washed pros would have 0 interest in returning to college if there wasn’t a fat bag of money involved

The NCAA is so spineless and don’t want to keep losing in court so who knows

No tf it’s not, college basketball is a sport for attending colleges to represent their best team. Highschool has nothing to do with it. Are you saying Highschool players should be given more love than hardworking walk ons now? I get maybe cuz of NIL deals and stuff but that’s just against all inclusive treatment everyone has a right to. In that case, are you saying a 25 year old man from Cameroon should be given an opportunity even though he didn’t have the resources to go to college?

Yall speak with such double standard, Neoklis Avdalas played pro ball overseas, why’re you not forcing him to leave? Same with Miika Muraneen next year?

Because euro players do not have an amateur league like college basketball to play in out of high school, they are forced to play in pro leagues to develop. That’s not the same thing as a guy who was already in college forfeiting his eligibility and getting drafted and playing in actual NBA games, then trying to come back to college because he’s not good enough for more playing time even though he knew the rules when he entered that draft about eligibility

Yes everyone should be able to attend college if they want to, but that doesn’t mean they should be able to play collegiate athletics. Do you think LeBron should be able to come to college and have four years of eligibility to play college basketball right now, since he never went to college?

They aren’t forced? They choose to be fast tracked very similar to how College players choose to get fast tracked into the NBA. If you’re trying to lecture me abt how European basketball works you’re losing everytime. OG anunoby didn’t play overseas ball and he went to college? Thats not even the point here, you’re whole point was Professional basketball players shouldn’t be allowed into collegiate basketball, while also giving a pass to professional basketball that’re just younger.

That’s a valid point, although I do find banning them altogether is extreme, a year policy would work. Something like players that have played close 3-4 years in the league lose eligibility. Bailey played a year and his 21. There’s literally people 4 years older than him in the NCAA. I don’t see why he can’t go.

No bro, I’m saying NBA PLAYERS should not be able to play college basketball. euro players enter pro leagues when they’re as young as 15 because they don’t have amateur leagues. There is an established NCAA-NBA joint rule that once college players enter the draft and don’t withdraw by the deadline they forfeit any remaining eligibility. And the five year clock rule where theres a 5 year window between graduating high school and using college eligibility, it’s not ageist those are the rules lol

Because he signed a two way contract and was paid an NBA salary, thereby forgoing any amateur status he had. The entirety of NCAA athletics is founded on the idea that it is an amateur league, that’s why schools can’t directly pay their players salaries. And just as a fan of both sports it ruins the integrity of both leagues and these people trying to bend the rules don’t have good intentions, they’re just looking for a big payday. I also don’t think G league players should be eligible

But I understand why they are letting g leaguers who never played in the nba play since they think it’s equivalent to euro pro leagues. But anyone who has played an NBA game is a professional player and should not be able to return to college (and also ask yourself why the hell an NBA player would want to or if they would even consider it if there wasn’t money to be made with no salary caps? The answer is no, they wouldn’t)

Why're you putting the NBA on such a high pedestal? Euro league is 100 percent an equal. Just cuz one league generates more money doesn't mean the other is inferior to it. Are you saying Overseas basketball players aren't pros? Ngl your blatant disrespect for European basketball shows how your opinion means little. European basketball is just as much pro as the NBA. Hence if you play in the euroleague, you are a professional basketball player,
