My hair is literally falling out in clumps, I’m pissing blood again, my migraines are getting worse, my pain is getting so bad that nothing is helping, and I’m so fatigued I’m going insane despite the meds and my rheumatologist is ignoring me 🤪

I may be biased due to personal experiences but I swear rheumatology as a field is disproportionately made up of malignant quacks and apathetic bastards

sorry if i’m ignorant for asking but isn’t that like medical emergency 911 type of stuff at that point? esp pissing blood and being in pain so much with no success from solutions

In all fairness, every chronic illness gets put on rheumatology. We really need a better system.

How does that relate literally at all?

It technically is, but for people who experience this regularly and/or don’t have good insurance, we rlly have to pick our battles

For me personally, blood in urine is at “keep an eye on it” level

imagine seeing a post venting about severe illness & an incompetent / careless doctor and thinking “I know, I should respond by not showing any sympathy for OP and instead attempting to justify the doctor’s negligence!”

That wasn’t my intention. I have empathy, I was just saying the system is broken, and with all the chronic illnesses now, I think there should be more specialties relating to chronic illnesses so people can get the care they need.

I’ll ask again “how does this relate at all?”

you’re replying in a group for chronically ill people—what exactly makes you think anyone else here needs you to explain to them that the system is broken?? we’re all intimately familiar with that fact OP said they’re being ignored, and you’re over here talking like they aren’t Really being ignored because it must simply be that their rheumatologist is overworked. obviously that’s rude & dismissive

I apologize. That was not my intent. I just feel frustrated whenever I’m sent to a rheumatologist because how can they possibly know what I need?
