My bf dumped me on Friday and one of his reasons was that he feels like he has to take care of me too much… I have really mild hEDS all I was asking him to do was things like refill my water bottle or bring me Advil or be emotional support😞

fuck him, but he did you a favor bc you deserve better omfg!! my boyfriend will literally takeover doing my laundry when i overwork myself and has physically carried me to our bed even when it wasn’t entirely necessary. YOU DESERVE BETTER!!

Wtf?! These are basic things that someone without a chronic illness would ask for. Yeah you’re so much better off without him! If at the bare minimum a man can’t be emotionally supportive then they gotta go

i'm in the same situation with my current bf, i usually just ask him to fill my water or help me get out of bed but he told me he doesn't want to live his life accommodating me with things i am capable of doing myself (with a lot of discomfort but to him if im capable it doesnt matter)

My ex (still weird to say) would say similar kinda stuff, not to that extent but he’d get upset about having to do really basic stuff like that. I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I would do those things for him in a heartbeat, so as much as it hurts, I don’t want to be with someone who wouldn’t do the same for me. But it still sucks that he wasn’t willing to do that. I hope your bf grows up or you get the courage to find someone more deserving of you❤️
