As someone who had an OBGYN who dismissed me for years, I finally switched and found one who would take my concerns seriously, and I got officially diagnosed a couple years ago. It was a long road but it was super worth it.

Yep! That’s when I pushed with my doctor to do the diagnosis surgery and ultimately switched to a different doctor for treatment.

BUT you have to keep in mind that birth control is the best way to treat endometriosis and so if you do have it they would keep you on birth control to treat it. The only other options are surgical, temporary menopause, or pain management. If you aren’t doing well on the combination hormones then something like an iud or Neuva ring might be better for you since it only has progesterone, and I think there might be an oral pill that offers just progesterone but I don’t know much about it

The only way to definitively diagnose endometriosis is to see the endometriosis, like with a laparoscopy, which is why they don’t try to diagnose you with it since most doctors hate suggesting surgery for something that you would treat with the pill regardless
