I hate when people don’t understand the CHRONIC part of CHRONIC ILLNESS “you’re still like that?” Last I checked, my corrective surgery isn’t for another month, so yes I’m still “like that” I have no energy or stamina and I’m always in pain

My mom is like suprised when I go inside flares and is like “I thought this went away? Your meds aren’t working”. Like ma’am the meds are to manage symptoms not a cure.

righttttt. it’s chronic not temporary, medications are just for the management of symptoms, it’s not a cure. I was just issued a school medical parking pass and it said in big bold letters “temporary” and it had an expiration date, like hot take, my chronic illness isn’t going away once the pass expires”

I’m lucky that there’s a surgery I can have to help manage my symptoms, but it’s been repeatedly delayed for over a year now
