People with endometriosis. How were you diagnosed. I was told that the next step was a transvaginal ultrasound. Which I will never agree to, pelvic exams and Pap smears are painful enough for me

I haven’t been diagnosed but it can’t be diagnosed from an ultrasound if it’s not super severe, only suspected, laparoscopy is the gold star for diagnosis

An ultrasound. I would highly suggest discussing with your doctors if you have concerns or don’t feel comfortable doing that - they can find a work around better than some random yikyakers

transvaginal ultrasound, but it really wasn't that painful to me. i had a feeling of fullness and like 3/10 pain. i wonder if you could get a relaxant or pain med prescribed for it?

They seemed to only give me that option. I said I would never agree to that. The thought is that it might be around my colon causing cramping and severe constipation. And the fact that my colon is “tortuous” (long and more curves) during my colonoscopy this year but it was normal during the one 2 years ago.

I read that it might show up on a mri, which is significantly less evasive and doesn’t trigger my trauma.

I might agree to one if they knock me out first. They have to do that for my colonoscopies and endoscopies because even highly sedated I fight back and try to stop them
