I had to sign a paper today for a CT scan saying that there is no possibility for pregnancy, and I had to select the reason why. Like wtf? You tested my urine anyway, what this new thing. It just feels like drs trying to cover their ass bc of politics

And healthcare shouldn’t be run by politics (except if it’s about free healthcare or affordable medication and treatments). Usually they just ask if there is a chance I could be pregnant, I’ve never had to sign a paper

This has actually supposed to be practice for a while because if you were someone how pregnant then you could sue if there was harm to your baby. They are supposed to check then make you sign the paper.

It's very understandable. Even though there a standard for majority of healthcare a lot of places fail to do these basic things. Usually comes back to bite the later which makes them start doing it

I hate that every time I’m in the er or urgent care that they are requiring a pregnancy test before they start treatment or other testing. Even when I say that it would be an immaculate conception. I have a lot of trauma with drs, and drs not believing me or dismissing my symptoms. I Unfortunately went through a very traumatic experience with a hospital last oct, and these little things still trigger me.

Yeahhhh, I think that therapist might be right, I could have ptsd from that experience.

I’ve just never had to do that before and I have had a lot of scans. Usually it’s just one paper that says you’ve been informed of the risks. But I’ve never had to sign a separate one specifically for pregnancy

So it’s new to me. And with my trauma still being so fresh it made my “they don’t believe me” thoughts so much more intense

Yea I’m still working on managing the anxiety and mistrust around medical professionals
