Tbh as someone whose young w severe endo, hysterectomies don’t cure/treat it. Excision surgery w a specialist (I got botched my first surgery by someone who wasn’t a specialist) is the gold standard and is what got me to actually feeling a million times better. Idk where you’re from but I can give surgeon recs if needed😓🙏
It legitimately pisses me off so much that household pets get more care for reproductive pain and problems than human beings do. If your dog is having significant uterine pain and is suffering a low quality of life because of it, it’s seen as borderline cruelty to NOT give that dog a hysterectomy. Plus a reasonable vet would never suggest that dog have puppies. But a human who can’t go to work, outings, or school because of pain? They can deal with it forever, try having a kid (but they can’t)
I’m going the see the “last resort” doctor and the NP said he also doesn’t recommend hystos for endo. The awful doctor I saw before him bluntly put it “it’ll still grow where it’s growing (ovaries, bowel, muscle wall, etc) and then you might prolapse your bladder or go into menopause”. She was rude but kinda had a point.
Omg I’m so sorry that happened! I hate when they have zero bedside manner😭 But no joke my first doctor said the same thing (why do they all have the same script wtf!) & wanted to put me on meds to induce menopause & remove my ovaries later. I’m so glad I was skeptical bc I’m 23 now but that was genuinely terrifying to hear at 19. I hope the appointment goes well but again if you happen to want another rec lmk! (I live in CA but know of others across the US if you happen to be American) :)
