Yeah my doctor’s office is really bad with the whole “informed” part of informed consent. This event has solidified my belief that they will just straight up lie to me to get me to agree to things I would probably refuse if I knew the truth

Ahhhh but why recognize things as awkward, humiliating, and potentially traumatic experiences when you can lie to the patient, make it worse for them by blindsiding them, and put them in a position where it is incredibly difficult to refuse the person(s) in a position of authority over them?
