Found out my accommodations were granted on a temporary basis and just expired. Apparently, I had to explain my use of them to justify my need. Except I don’t need them all the time, so I haven’t used them. But my condition isn’t going away 🤦‍♀️

I work in accommodations and can probably help you figure this out. How long did you have the accommodations? Did they not tell you they were temp/the exp date when you got them? You have NEVER used them in the period of time you’ve had them? I agree with the other person that other accommodations may be better suited then, honestly.

Is there a different accommodation that could meet the same access barrier?

It’s for work. I had them for about 2 months. I never asked for them - work insisted on it after I couldn’t do a small part of my job that’s seasonal and occurs a few times a year. And they added extra just in case I needed at a later point. I wasn’t told they were temporary, but they also knew I never asked for them, but my supervisor required it. And really weren’t needed — but couldn’t help in those rare circumstances unless they were in place. So stupid

Not really. We went through all scenarios. But it is very limited circumstances it’s necessary.

Wait if the accommodations are only required for a certain time frame, that is now over (ie there are no barriers now) it would maybe make sense to not have them now. Can’t you just get them again at the next “season”? Or put time restrictions on a permanent plan like “from X-Y employee will have ABC accommodations”. That’s probably what I would do if I had to be so restrictive
