elaboration for the sake of accuracy: in many (but not all) people who experience longterm bodily systems damage from prior covid infections, especially repeated infections, one form that damage takes is that POTS is triggered. my understanding is that it’s less an issue of just “long covid causes POTS”, more like “prior infection can trigger POTS in people who may already be predisposed to it in some fashion” (still a Lot of people)

and since it’s growing more common, 1) awareness grows organically and 2) it receives more academic research, which 3) leads to medical professionals being better educated on it, in turn leading to more people being diagnosed (whether they developed POTS in relation to covid infection or not)
