watching a girl on tiktok say she’s finally getting iron infusions for her chronically low ferritin (20-30) and remembering when a doctor told me my levels were a little low but fine (6-10) 😭

Low is low, no comparing. But regardless your doctor is an idiot.

most drs are ignorant about iron deficiency. good news is you don’t need a dr to fix iron deficiency. even if you went to your dr they’d tell you to take a small dose of iron, a kind that most people get GI issues from, every other day and that’s not enough. join the iron protocol facebook group for more in depth info. the group’s recommendations come from the american society of hematology. my dr just told me to eat iron rich foods but you can’t eat your way out of iron deficiency
