My grandpa has been throwing up with a fever since last night-we spent Christmas Eve there my immune system sucks and I’m supposed to have a surgery tomorrow I’m actually freaking out

A day late here but I hope all went well and you’re safely in recovery from surgery now (and that your grandpa is doing better). Overall this sounds like a frightening experience, I’m sorry to hear that you went through such an ordeal

that’s frightening, I’m so sorry. any possible way you could take a combination flu & covid test in the AM prior to the scheduled surgery?

Yeah we’re gonna. The fever went away and he was better on Christmas-they still didn’t come around but idk everyone is thinking it was food related because apparently he went to a sketchy deli in the morning but idk the fever is a bit much for food poisoning I think idk

Yes thank you, everything went well! He was much much better last night and has been good since. No one else from that night got sick either including my grandma who apparently slept in the same bed as the man. And I’ve felt fine, no fevers, they ran rapids just incase which were normal. My temp did spike to 99.8 post op which freaked me out good so they kept me for a bit longer and it went down every time they check after so they sent me home. I’ve been checking constantly and have been stable
