is it abnormal to start experiencing leg and foot pain after standing for somewhere between 10-30 minutes? i’ve noticed that other people don’t need to swap their feet or need to lean against things as often as i do.

genuinely wondering if i might need a cane to support myself because often the pain feels unbearable but idk if it’s actually that bad or i may be overreacting to it. it also tends to feel like a hot tight stinging pain from the base of my feet up through my legs. picking up my foot and bending my knees seems to help a bit but it immediately starts hurting again the second i put my foot back down on the ground.

It’s definitely abnormal and worth bringing up to whoever you think is best, but you can also get a cane if you think it would help

oh! from here this sounds very much like it could be the result of “blood pooling” in your feet & lower legs—especially the tightness and it being alleviated slightly by knee-raising—which is a hallmark of POTS. might be attributable to other conditions as well tbc, but I know POTS is becoming way more common these days because it can be triggered by prior covid infection

other common POTS signs include recurring elevated pulse, inability to stay hydrated (at least without electrolytes), tolerating heat poorly, experiencing bouts of dizziness / feeling faint. either way, if the pain ever feels unbearable, you’re def not overreacting—good to take that seriously and consider support options!
