Does your school have an option for academic relief on the grounds of disability?

I lost my financial aid because I failed a semester due to multiple week hospitalization. Im waiting to go back (literally 1 semester short of my degree). The system is fked bc why can’t everything be dismissed for a documented medical emergency?

They dont but thankfully my professor managed to slightly add some extra credit points to account for circumstances and I ended up not failing by a small margin, thankfully he was more understanding! But it frustrates me how there was no system made for that to start.

That really sucks and is not an unprecedented thing to have. If you have the bandwidth, I’d tell your registrar/disability resource office/etc you’re interested in such a program. Tell them to post about it on AHEAD if they’re members
