anyone else’s migraines don’t respond to medication? I’ve been on 13 different medications preventative/onset/oral/shots/nose sprays and none of them have been effective

The only one that’s been effective for me is Nurtec

most of them just made me constipated and one gave me seizures. Qulipta worked but I can't get the financial stuff figured out to access it again

i have personally been on over 30+ migraine medications since i was young. i'm currently on emgality as a preventative and nurtec+sprix as an abortive. but the most helpful thing i've found is getting iv magnesium+lidocane infusions

Yep constant migraine of 8 years but have had them since I was a kid before they became constant and have never gotten any relief from any migraine med or combination of them. It sucks and tbh idk how I function most days.

Nurtec helped me! I know there is also a shot you can inject in the leg that helps with migraines though I don’t know the name 🥺 my mom takes they and they help her. She typically is out for 4 days when she has migraines so this is a life saver for her

gabapentin was the most effective for me but it just stopped working after years of taking it for some reason

can you tell me more about the botox? i've been on every med under the sun since i was 6 for migraines, nerve blocks etc. but i've been too afraid to try botox but my doctors want me to

yeah! it’s a bunch of injections around your head and neck but they really don’t hurt. for me the worst are by my brows but it’s just a little flinch. i’m a little achy for a few days after. imo there’s no downside to trying it if insurance will cover it. but it can take up to 3 sessions (9months) to actually feel a difference. it doesn’t last all 3 months for me but it’s low maintenance. my insurance covers it no problem because i have also been on every med available. get the coupon for copay

i’ve had no side effects other than a dull headache after. try to avoid blood thinners before you go so you don’t bleed a ton

no idea but i don’t see why not since botox isn’t really a drug. i’d ask your neurologist

i only had them for a few days one year as a kid but now you’re everyday. i miss the person i used to be 🥲 i think i would give anything to just get through the day again

Totally get that. I miss who I was too. My old favorite activities are now torture for me. You’re not alone and hopefully we both find the right meds for us soon
