I’m assuming they meant it in a gender neutral way. A lot of people, especially in gaming spaces, call everyone man or bro

The word “man” is not gender neutral. Most trans women would disagree with that. Even if the person meant it in a “gender neutral” way, I don’t like being called that, and it’s valid to have those boundaries
