My infusion techs are literally the only people I have ever had struggle with my veins and unfortunately they are the ones I see on repeat every month. I am not ready to endure 45 minutes of sticking and a blown vein. Again

I’d say hydrate but I know thirty people around you already said that. Take deep breaths. Ask for someone who you haven’t had. Ask for a patient advocate if you need to. 🩷💜

I’d request someone with experience next time, just tell them you’re frustrated with the fact every time you show up they hurt you and that you would like to schedule with someone with a minimum of a years experience

She did in fact blow a vein 💔 Thanks for the advice, It’s just difficult when she’s the only one there some days. And I’d hate to be rude, I don’t want to tell her she’s terrible at starting IVs when IVs are just hard to start :( But I also shouldn’t be forced to hurt for days after and push my pain tolerance to its limit each and every time

Yeah but sometimes she’s the only one in the building, and when she isn’t, the other ones also suck. I know IVs are much harder than regular bloodwork, and that I have shitty veins, but god am I running low on the mental fortitude required to endure the trial and error and pain
