All the fatphobia and neglect that my primary care provider did to me was so triggering, especially the apathy from him. It gave me some PTSD childhood flashbacks that were unpleasant. Fatphobia is serious and bias doesn’t belong in healthcare.

It will forever frustrate me that one doctor said that I can’t have top surgery because of my weight claiming that my weight would cause complications for recovering from top surgery but another doctor said I would be eligible for bariatric surgery. So I can’t have top surgery but I can have another equally or even more intense surgery? I’m no doctor but that doesn’t make sense

Yeah that’s unfortunately a really common experience for gender affirming surgery if you aren’t skinny. My previous primary care provider that I mentioned in this post is literally trans, and it’s disappointing that he turned out to be a fatphobic asshole. He’s no better than people that oppress us. Not a good provider at all and I am glad I reported him.
