Is it typical for companies to give only 1 week of paid sick time for the whole year? Im now coming up on my second year at this job having to take a week off work with no pay because of my weakened immune system

I’ve found that a lot of companies will give the lowest amount of sick time they are legally required to. I got 15 days of paid leave at my job. But they combined sick leave and vacation time. So technically it’s a week of paid sick time.

Depends…is sick time separate from vacation? Mine is combined, so I have more (3 weeks for being sick, appointments, time off, vacation, etc.). You cab look at accommodations, or even intermittent FMLA. They can help sith that

But if you apply for intermittent leave through FMLA, you can get more paid time off.
