Today my heart rate was recorded at 72 bpm. I have POTS, was just standing and walking before it was taken, wasn’t wearing any compression, and it’s very warm out today. I’m so confused lol

Based on feeling (which I’ve gotten pretty good at), it should’ve been in the 120s. Even my normal resting heart rate is higher than that (low-mid 80s). The doctor did it manually when she came in (though like 15 minutes later) and it was even lower like upper 60s

Are you taking any meds to lower your heart rate? I’ve experienced this a few times that it feels like my heart is racing but my watch doesn’t say it is and that’s all I can think is that my meds are keeping it lower in that moment but my body is still acting the same way

Ever since I got on antidepressants this has been happening to me too!

Feelings are most important! I’m lucky to have a POTS doc that understands that because meds lower my heart rate but don’t make me feel any better. Not sure if you take any

I don’t take any. That’s why I’m so confused. My heart rate was significantly lower than it should’ve been based on the circumstances

But then other times it’ll be in the 180s just sitting in class so I’m still trying to figure these meds out 🤣
