idk who else needs to hear this but the no surprises act requires your provider to give you a good faith estimate of what your care will cost within $400 of the actual price. if they don’t, within 120 days you can file a form to appeal and lower the price

so if you get surprised with out of network care or ridiculous billing from labs you didn’t even know you were getting service from, tell your provider you’re going to file a form with the no surprises act and they will either help you get the price lowered or you can file the form and get the price lowered. it’s like the one good thing trump has done. it was passed in 2022. i didn’t know about this bill until a month ago and i could’ve saved hundreds on surprise labcorp bills that totaled $1.5k
