Generative AI isn't separate from AI, it's a subset of it. AI is the umbrella term. Under it you've got rule-based systems (hand-written logic, like classic game NPCs) and machine learning (systems that learn patterns from data). Generative AI is one branch of ML: models that produce new text, images, or audio, like ChatGPT, Midjourney, or Suno. So "generative AI vs AI" is like asking the difference between a square and a shape.
I'm not agreeing with you diva, I'm correcting you. Your post framed generative AI and AI as two separate things. They're not. Your definitions were wrong too: generative isn't about prompts, regular AI isn't just "code that runs by itself," and ASI doesn't exist. Nobody's saying all AI is the same. We're saying your categories are made up. Still waiting on replies to my other comments btw.
