Try to think and provide a REAL reason why you think she should be ashamed. You are literally virtue signaling in real time without realizing, blinded by your moral high ground. There are some bad things about things you probably also hate—Capitalism, war, billionaires and politicians corruption and greed—but AI itself as a technology is NOT. BAD. You are brainwashed. It’s just low hanging fruit to blame. It’s new, confusing, scary: a perfect storm for fear mongering. So; let the adults talk.
It’s a valuable piece of user info. Right now, you need to 1. Think abt which app the info is on 2. Swipe around to find the app 3. Find the info using the distinct User Interface of the App you’re on (search bar? Filters? List?) You can’t blame the user for wanting a centralized, unified place to search for information. And if your app is also on a website, then ChatGPT likely gave her the correct info after scraping your site info. So she’s actually smarter than you. You should be ashamed.
Converting to AI is lazy, “adults” like you are slowly evolving us as a whole society to become lazier, just look at how kids in schools are doing, is this really a society you want to strive for? For kids and adults to not even think or learn? Where people feel the need to use an unreliable bot instead of using resources that was ALWAYS there and even easier to access? How the fuck am i the brain washed one when y’all are the ones who need ai for SIMPLE TASKS😀
Sorry I’m thinking about the bigger picture amd how AI is going to screw us over as a whole. AI is doing more bad than good these days and I don’t see how it’s suppose to “get better”, I see a society where “adults” like you are going to become lazier It’s not even “new and confusing”, it’s just scary how people are converting to using AI when there are other resources that can give more and accurate answers, the laziness is going to hurt everyone in the long run
“Using resources that was always there” I had better grammar in 1st grade. Anyway, 1. Searching for a menu and the education system are completely separate issues 2. It’s an education system problem, not a tool problem. When the calculator was invented, humans were able to focus on harder problems. It didn’t rot our brains like teachers said. You’re just like those low IQ teachers.
We must change the education system to adapt with AI. No more memorization, traditional tests, or knowledge dumping. Let’s focus on interactive projects, critical thinking activities, open-ended questions, passion projects. Do you see where I’m going here? “Homework should feel like a video game” - Elon Musk. It should have feedback loops and be interactive and rewarding, not annoying and grueling. You can’t/wont get AI to do any of the things I just said.
1. The info is on the restaurants app AND in store, because just like every other big name food service place, we also have an app, there is literally a WHOLE section specifically for vegetarians that gives her way more options than what ChatGPT gave her. Chat gpt recommended her a salad from our restaurant that we havent had on our menu in years. On the app AND in store there is a whole vegetarian section that is easier to use than chat gpt 😁
Eventually it will be good enough. Some ppl just lack understanding of how it works. For (us?) we understand where ChatGPT pulls the info from so we know what it’s good and bad for. But for her, it’s probably worked when looking up a different menu, so she assumes it’ll work on yours too. But the data is unavailable on the internet so it didn’t. Nothing to be ashamed about. Why should she be ashamed? Bc AI is the big bad wolf that’ll blow your house down? 🐺
Because in the real world we’re using calculators to help with math, a device that is accurate with numbers specifically, AI couldnt even get the items on our menu right so why tf should we trust that same AI with kids in school… and I’m…low IQ for wanting kids to learn and not let them use ai to do quite literally everything for them?
You’re too far gone. No critical thinking. Clicking 4 times on Google instead of 1 in ChatGPT is not laziness, it’s streamlining. Your entire premise relies on the notion that there is something to complete. There is nothing to complete. Nothing is about “getting it done”. Productivity-minded is a disease. Life is about living. Life is lived on the journey, not when you achieve the goal. AI helps you achieve, which is worthless. AI doesn’t help you live, which is the entire point. Read again.
Oh god, it’s people like you that’s going to cause our kids to not be able to think for themselves Education in today’s days is and can still be very rewarding without relying on a bot to do the work for you. But how exactly do you think AI can be used in the every day education that you think would be better? I don’t think I want my doctors replaced by a robot and I don’t want my doctors not knowing their own field of work
By her looking at our menu either on the app or in store menu she would’ve gotten more options to look at and accurate options AND lists out all the ingredients and prices. ChatGPT gave her 3 recommendations, one of them being a salad we havent had in years and the other being a made up name that was mocking a menu item we do have
I didn’t say that education can’t be rewarding. I literally said the opposite. Then I proposed a solution for a shift in the education system to better work for children. (This shift was always needed—AI just magnified the issue. Back then it was cheating off papers, then it was Google, now AI—all issues with the education system, but cheating is just getting faster) Real education is something you can’t cheat on. Standardized testing is bad. Kids should be given freedom to be curious & create.
