I think a lot of modern “car guys” that make their car their personality are coping with the fact they got left behind socially by their peers so they compensate with their car, and call their peers that left them behind NPCs

No, most anyone can afford a $1400/mo payment, just if you go homeless and eat ramen. Not impressive. Statistically having car payments in excess indicate being poor
