I’d rather get an older car and keep fixing it than get a newer car that has issues

My dad thinks I’m insane for having the same mentality

You can pry my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible from my cold, dead hands. I love this car, I don’t fw those new things

Eh. My friends all get old cars, I’ve only bought new so far. Don’t get me wrong, I love old cars, amazing driving experience. But I like newer tech. And my m550 and s550 mustang have never had an issue I did not directly cause. And when they do, they’re straight forward to fix. I like having CarPlay, a backup camera, and heated/cooled seats, makes life easier. I think everything is a pain to work on, I’ll pay up for a new car so I can at least enjoy it brand new for 5-7 years

All cars can have issues. Some issues just tend to be easier to fix on older cars because they are simpler to work on by design

Fr. I also don’t understand people who buy brand new cars, let alone first-year brand new cars

I bought a brand new 1st year car in 2023 but it was a special launch edition and it’s something I intend on keeping as long as they sell gas so

That’s fair and totally justifiable. Buying new and planning on keeping it forever should be the only reason why people buy brand new cars tbh
