That’s a silly take definitions are factually anything outside of that is an opinion if it can’t be proven with a fact. Critical thinking skills would tell you that.

I’ve seen “spicy romance” books that contain porn and are advertised to minors. and even for adults, it’s important to be clear about its content since pornography is a severe no-go for a lot of people (myself included)

Definitions can mean 5 different things. Critical thinking skills would tell you that. There is a fundamental difference between visual porn, which is colloquially what people mean when they say porn, and written text. Equating spicy scenes in books to filmed pornography is like equating violence in books to snuff films. They’re foundationally different in harm to real humans and also scientific effect on the brain. This is a tired discussion and OP of the last post was toxic in other threads.

It is though lol If you read a detailed recipe for a chocolate cake, your mind visualizes the cake, and it activates your appetite. If you look at a photo of the cake, the same thing happens. One is text, one is visual, but they are both fundamentally about the exact same cake. Written porn is just the recipe; visual porn is the plated dish—but they are both serving the same dessert.

You are very much welcome to ignore the studies than have been done on porn’s effect on the brain versus spicy romance, but I will be sticking with facts. I’m done talking to someone comparing filmed pornography to a cake recipe. Have fun being weird and wrong ✌️

well you’ve yet to quote actual studies and who has done them. google stated this: Pornography and "smut" (erotic romance novels) both trigger the brain's reward centers and release arousal-related neurotransmitters like dopamine and oxytocin. However, porn provides instant, passive visual stimulation, often leading to rapid tolerance and over-stimulation. Smut novels require active, imaginative engagement, pacing the neurological response through emotional connection and narrative.

Okay ima have disagree with the chocolate cake analogy though, cause I don’t be thinking about chocolate cake when reading a recipe I think about the eggs the butter the icing, but I see where you are coming from. And btw Vanilla cake is better.

I mean if you heard someone get really descriptive with their recipe like: After placing a good portion of buttercream between two layers of buttery delectable slices of vanilla cake. Place a thick layer or buttercream (or any frosting you like) to the whole cake. Next drizzle on our scrumptious caramel sauce made by hand and packaged with love to the cake. We suggest adding some in the middle so with every bite you get a taste of caramel buttery goodness.
