Nah not everything needs romance imo. That was actually one of the few things I didn’t like about the movie (aside from removing the science), it kinda seemed like they were trying for something between stratt and Grace, which doesn’t fit either of their characters

whatt I felt like the movie made her way older BECAUSE they weren't trying to ship them. honestly the way the book read I was holding out hope stratt would at least give him like a kiss for good luck or something

Not saying either is right or wrong, that was just the way I interpreted it. She was older in the end to signify time had passed on Earth, but Sandra Huller is 47 and Ryan Gosling is 45, so pretty close in age prior to that scene. And she was much more smiley toward him than in the book, the whole karaoke scene too was filled with “un-Stratt-like” behavior, especially with her looks/reassurances toward him
