My friend keeps trying to convince me to read fourth wing and I just can’t man I can’t get past the fact that his name is Xaden it’s such a dumb name it sounds like something a couple from Utah would name their kid 😭

It’s really bad honestly, the book is a Frankenstein of stolen ideas and the names of the characters are so cringe.

I can’t find one that’s not blurry but Xaden is causally 6’5 🙄 people like to defend Violet’s littleness by saying it’s her chronic illness but EDS does not make you skinny and small, I know plenty of people who have it and are tall and not skin and bones, the author just needed an excuse to play into gender stereotypes

THANK YOU!!! Dude that height difference is the same as my brother (6’7) and myself (5’4) and that’s atrocious like wtf

As a curvy and tall girl with eds I despise the stereotype that someone with eds or any chronic illness is automatically frail and small so that’s even more reason not to read it I guess lmao

It’s not that actual height that bothers me but the excuse and a few ridiculous situations she blames her height on. And yes, the stereotype is getting old very quickly

Yeah I’m tall and sturdy with hyper mobility myself and I could not stand the way her disability was handled, it was made even worse by the fact that I was an equestrian who had to take a break from competition because of hyper mobility. Violet just sucks at dragonriding and almost everything but doesn’t really make an effort to get better, the universe just seems to be in her favor
