What’s ur stupidest reason for DNFing/not reading a book. Mine is that I didn’t like the main character’s name

One of the protagonists was an arachnologist, supposedly the best in her field, but the book kept calling spiders ‘bugs’ or using the word ‘poisonous’ when they meant ‘venemous’

I just think it’s unbelievably cringe and out of place for a fantasy series.

Agreed, Xaden feels a little bit too modern and out of place. I wanted to read the knight and the moth but put it down after reading the blurb bc of the name Sybil I just couldn’t I hate that name so much. I’m reading powerless trilogy rn and Paedyn is a stretch I don’t really like her name but it’s not the worst

The Knight and the Moth is really good though. And she’s referred to as “six” for a good chunk of the book so her name doesn’t come up that much. Powerless on the other hand… it’s just not worth it

Thanks! Idk powerless is fun so far. I don’t have high standards for the books I read (yet)
