Crashing out over a TikTok that told me if I can’t sound out “staphylococcal” and pronounce it correctly, I’m illiterate 😭 I pronounced it with the emphasis in the wrong place and now I’m questioning everything.

i saw that video it’s about not even knowing where to start pretty much see unknown words and can’t begin to pronounce it

Ok I hope so because I started doubting whether I knew the difference between phonetics and morphology, because he was fully arguing that you can decode that word using phonetics alone. But like, no you can’t! Not without knowing what “coccal” means to begin with, which I didn’t 😭
