nah fr i read a book that 1/6th of it was a single chapter and i nearly clawed my eyes out

I took me about a year to get through this audiobook. It was also my first long audiobook I like WWII historical fiction & I did feel like it was a drag at times - well most of the time. But the ending was beautiful.

I tried reading this, then went to audio and had to speed through it. I really wanted to enjoy it but it was so hard

mainly german and french words and names. since i’m listening to it, sometimes it’s hard for me to pinpoint who/what/where the story is talking about. i do have both the ebook and physical book, so i’m going to use it while i listen to try and familiarize myself with it and hopefully that’ll help me not just lost in the story. and also the long chapters aren’t my fave so i tune out more often than i normally would so i have to rewind and listen again

well that’s refreshing, thank you. i’m only on chapter 3, but 4.5 hours into the book lmao. not my vibe, but hopefully it’s worth it. may be a book a reread after a few months to understand it better
