Did you dnf after the first or second book? Because Iron Flame does have a long dry spell in the middle but it’s worth it for the ending twists. As for relatability, Violet isn’t supposed to be. The author has a chronic disease which Violet also has, and her character is one of the ways Yarros advocates for the chronic disease. Xaden is personal preference I suppose but so no comment there
I finished it mainly because I love dragons. I found the spicy scenes to be better than other Popular romantasy but still not the best I’ve ever read. I also don’t like Xaden, just feels too, toxic male bs, but that’s also because of the dragon connection I think. I put it in a category of, good, but the hype around it causes it to disappoint me sometimes because I expected more
