some light fantasy that r more cozy and have romance: violet thistlewaite is not a villain anymore, late-night witches, the whole series of regency faerie tales- (stand alone ish, interconnected characters and first ones half a soul), witch's guide to magical innkeeping, and my all time fav: the very secret society of irregular witches

It depends how you define gory, but Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. I don’t really see it as such, but have seen some people say it can be a little intense at times. It’s a great bridge between ya and adult fantasy, not quite being either
