imo it’s a better idea for them to just try and write it themself even if it doesn’t end up being GoT. aiming for publishing isnt something everyone wants to do, and a lot of people put their OC writing on website just so they and others can enjoy it

Honestly I’m selfish and think it’s a really cool idea 😭 I have another less good idea that I was thinking of trying to write just to learn how, but I don’t have a ton of free time. And I’m a little self conscious too so I probably wouldn’t even try to publish anyway, at least not under my own name

god i get the self-conscious thing, it’s one of the main things that makes me write less 😭 I’m working on a comic with my friend with the ideas I had tho and it’s boosted my confidence a lot to have another person get excited abt smth I can up with :>

A lot of English/writing classes don’t necessarily translate to fictive work! And you will never get better if you don’t write. The best way to improve fiction writing isn’t classes, but just getting words on a page. And also — the worst writing is no writing at all. Putting even the most awful incomprehensible jumble of words onto paper is a huge step above nothing. And most writers think they’re awful!! It’s super rewarding to write your own work, and most of the fun comes from the creation
