Decided to try my first audiobook, picked one I’d already read so I wouldn’t get lost (the way of kings). Loving the narrators so far, but the name pronunciations are killing me 😭 maybe I just read them weird, but every time I hear one its jarring

Omg that was ACOTAR for me 😭🤣🤣. The name was Rhys. I read it as Rice/rise and they pronounced it as Reece🫠

Adolin (Ay-do-lin) took me a while, and Sadeas (Sah-dee-us)

Oh no! 😭 that one I kinda get tho cause Rhys is a real name, a lot of the ones in TWoK are made up and there was nothing to go off of or base some of the syllable sounds on. A pronunciation guide would’ve been nice, now I’m stuck calling characters the “wrong” name cause I’ve been reading it that way for five books 😅

Oh don’t get me wrong I love it too, just don’t know if I’ll finish the audiobook version of it. Adolin and Sadeas were bad (I say Adolin with the long a like Adam and Sa-day-us instead of rhyming with Thaddeus) but Shallan was the worst, everytime I heard it it was really weird (I say it with a long a, Shay-lan instead of shall-on) and also Jasnah I pronounce the j
