Sort of by genre / type so like all my wizard related books are on a shelf together. All my dragon stuff. All my mythology. Etc etc.

i have a shelf for my favorites that is organized from most to least favorite, then i organize by genre on my other shelves but im too lazy to alphabetize within each genre so i kind of go by which book fits the genre most to least of that makes sense?

I can't have my history books (my major) next to my girly pop books (fantasy)

I have one shelf that’s really short, so I organization is mostly based on how to make them all fit. I shoved the ones that don’t into wooden crates and squish them into little shelves made of other books. No system, just vibes

It’s not. I have my shelves randomly full and random piles all over my floor

It used to be by color and then i started work at a library and i literally cannot look at an out of order shelf ever again

I do a mix of everything lol (chaotic I know). My top shelf is a mix of my favs and new reads. The second shelf is all SJM. The third shelf is a mix new adult and young adult (randomly thrown in blood and bonds of Hercules). The last shelf is just called it has to fit somewhere meaning I have no room and I’m trying to fit them on it

My middle shelf is where my favorites are, and the rest kinda branch out by how much I like them compared to the middle. I used to do genre/alphabetize but it was too much work and I wanted them to look nice and make me happy. Some are side stacked, others are front facing, I just kinda do whatever feels right and I’m happy with
