might be a weird take on here but if reading "cringe" books like self-help ones make u love reading then go for it

Literally. Like let people read what they want. Why are we judging people for reading when there are so many people who don’t or could be doing worse things

Not a weird take, and yeah I don’t get that. Honestly don’t understand if people just want engagement with those kinds of posts or if they truly think reading one book over another is different or of less value. Although this place is weird, love all the recs I get, but careful if you have an opinion such as not liking a popular book. The *horror* 😅

Reading “cringe” books is good but the downside is that people prefer to seek these resources instead of seeking any professional help they might need or gives them an inflated ego because they think they’re better than others after reading. There’s definitely a balance that’s needed between and readers who recognize that are okay :)

dare to lead is soooo good but tbh you can just watch her ted talk and it goes over most of the points

Downvoted even though these people genuinely exist 😭 some people will do anything besides get help and self-help books only enable them. It’s definitely not all and it’s not like I expect some books like Atomic Habits to impede others, but people fr will leap through flaming hoops before admitting they need professional help
